Foreign currencies can be exchanged in exchange offices, post offices, some tourist agencies and hotels. Most hotels, restaurants and shops in the Republic of Croatia accept credit cards: American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.

Emergency call for help - 112

If you require any kind of immediate assistance: urgent medical assistance, police assistance, fire department assistance, mountain rescue service or any other type of assistance at any time of day or night regardless of your location in Croatia, you can dial the free-toll number 112. The calls can be made through land lines or cell phones and from all phone booths.

Medical assistance

Medical clinics on the peninsula of Istria are located in all larger places: Pula, Rovinj, Poreč, Umag, Pazin. Foreign tourists who come from countries that are signatories of the Health Care Convention do not pay for medical assistance in the Republic of Croatia, whilst patients who come from those countries that are not signatories of this convention, must pay for medical assistance according to valid tariffs.
